With our latest release, we’re making this possible by introducing new updates to the Yammer Platform: dedicated Yammer Pages for business data, enhanced Embed functionality, and the new App Directory.
- Pages: Whether it’s a Sharepoint file, Zendesk ticket, or Salesforce record, an object shared to Yammer has a dedicated Page where employees can discuss, follow, and collaborate. Similar to a user profile, Pages provide an aggregate view of all the latest activity related to an object. By using Yammer Embed, the same information also appears on the business object’s webpage in the original application.
- Embeddable Feeds: Yammer now offers embeddable feeds for any business object, such as a record, document, opportunity or other piece of data. Previously, Yammer offered embeddable feeds only for Groups and individuals. The new object feeds allow applications to easily include conversations about business data in context.
- Embeddable Follow and Like Buttons: Follow and Like buttons can now be embedded inside any business application, so employees can engage with objects outside of Yammer. By following an object, Yammer understands that it’s relevant to the employee and surfaces new activity and related content. When an employee likes an object, it shares an update to Yammer.
- App Directory: Third-party applications that take advantage of the Yammer Platform now appear in the App Directory after they have been vetted by Yammer, making it easy for enterprise users to discover and install apps.
With these features, you’ll be able to surface information from across all of your business apps in Yammer, so it’s instantly discoverable, meaningful, and actionable.
