Yammer’s enterprise social networking solution now integrates with Microsoft® Sharepoint® 2010. With the Yammer SharePoint Web Parts, you can see your Yammer feed directly inside SharePoint, eliminating the need to toggle between SharePoint and Yammer. You can post messages, polls, events and links and transform your SharePoint My Site into a personal productivity page. Upload files to Yammer or maintain SharePoint’s version control by posting links to documents stored in SharePoint. Sharepoint integration is available to premium networks with Yammer’s gold plan.

Why would someone want both Yammer AND SharePoint 2010?
because Yammer has apps for computers, mobile devices, etc. where Sharepoint does not.
There are several Apps in the App Store currently for SharePoint access. Just search for SharePoint, and you can find them. When this post was originally made maybe that wasn’t the situation. The justification therefore in favour of using Yammer if you have Sharepoint now seems to be lost.
How does the link with sharepoint mysites work? do people have to maintain their details on both or can one replace/automatically update the other?
Will this be possible on top of Office365?
We are considering integration with Office365.
We also announced upgrade to our Sharepoint integration here: http://blog.yammer.com/blog/2011/07/yammer-and-sharepoint-a-love-story.html
Yes. Please provision a webpart for Office365.
How about Yammer and SharePoint Online integration, for Office365?
Thanks for your comment! It’s definitely something we are considering (re: Office365 integration).

When can we expect Yammer to leverage OCS/Lync for presence within Sharepoint? Having another presence engine is not optimal.
